Downloads using LimeWire 4.10

I am new to LimeWire so am hoping I can get some help please.

I have no problem with connecting or downloading.

My problem is this.

Almost all downloads displayed after searching have a download size of 851.7KB for some reason, which is obviously not correct, especially when I know a particular program should be at least 100mb. And when I have downloaded the program it does not work either, which is annoying.

My operating system is WindowsXP Pro and I have a 1mb broadband speed.

is this a setting problem or am I doing something wrong.

Thanks for any help.

And since you have downloaded a file you new wasn't the right size. Why you did that I have no idea (Curiosity killed the Cat) then opened it. Since you say it doesn't work. Actually it works quite well if you check your share folder there is probably allot of 851.7kb files in it. That file is a Virus and you probably should check out the link below.

Now you can go to the link below if you are unable to get rid of the Virus and Norbie should be able to help you.

I am guessing you are not running any Anti Virus software you might be interested in the link below it is free and works good.

When you are done with all of that you may want to check out some of the stickies in this forum there is allot of good advice and tips in them on downloading and p2p safety.

Downloading

Thanks for the reply Grandpa. I have the latest antivirus which works very well thanks.

It would appear that the majority of stuff downloaded has viruses when trying to open them.

What is the point of this software if all that it produces is stuff that won't work, doesn't exist or is full of viruses.

Thanks anyway.
