Xolox and accessing mldonkey stuff

I was directed here for xolox help but it seems to be defunct - is that right? Why?

Anyway, still hoping for an answer, my problem is that using xolox for the first time I asked it to get me three files.

Traffic showed nothing happening but my hard drive ran out of space and I found these files - with long numbers for names - sitting in a xolox/mldonkey/temp subdirectory.

They'd be the files alright, the sizes match exactly. How do I get at them and what's gone wrong with my installation of xolox?

Or: if xolox is banned here or forgotten or dismissed or something what's wrong with xolox that I should know about?

The final version XoloX was released 2 years ago. There was a XoloX forum section here but since the program has been discontinued, so has the forum. It can only be accessed certain ways & there'd be no point in accessing it since XoloX support people are no longer around. Perhaps a member of the forum knows something about using XoloX but ... I'd recommend using an actively developed client instead. There's plenty around. LimeWire, FrostWire, Phex, BearShare, Morpheus, Shareaza, etc. Check the forum sections & you'll see which ones are supported here.

What's wrong with the old Xolox? XoloX wiki is one reason. There's more I'm sure but I never used the program. Another member might be able to tell you the plusses & minuses about that program.

Well thank you for that. I've deleted it from my hard drive.

Somehow it fooled me into thinking it was as modern as tomorrow when I downloaded it....

I'll see what else I can get. I always used to use Klite but it seems to be defunct nowadays. It might still be around but no one seems to use it. Your forums don't mention it for instance.

I got Azureus but stopped at the big hassle downloading and installed the Java Runtime. Not worth it just for that I thought.

I'll try limewire maybe.

thanks and regards,

ab
