Is anybody having trouble connecting to www.technutopia.com?

It seems that there's a problem in the network somewhere because apparently
some people can connect but I can't. A traceroute makes it all the way to the
last step and then nothing.

connected just fine and fast, and able to view threads like http://www.technutopia.com/forum/sho...9&postcount=12 with no problem.

You want a traceroute?

works for me just fine......and...found in 14 hops from my locality with only 1 node showing any loss (20%), and that was a 'local' node....

Looks like I'm stuck using proxies for now.
Pretty wierd that just the one place is suddenly inaccessible.
If this keeps up I'll get my ISP to throw some weight around and find out why.

Maybe it's on your blocklist? :D

Would that it were so easy, but I use it solely in BearShare, not ProtoWall or PeerGuardian.

stief June 20th, 2006 01:09 PM

Heh, I'll be interested to find out what the case is: ISP blocking or preferencing has always bothered me, since it is so difficult to diagnose.

Pardon the curiousity, but I assume it happens with another machine on your network too?

The problem is not here and besides, my PC is the NAT and gateway for
this house because no retail router is reliable enough. That means there is only
one IP address here.

Let me know...

In my case it was a mistake by the hosting provider, which they fixed the next
day. If you use PeerGuardian, Protowall or any other firewall that updates it's
own block lists, check that your IP address wasn't accidentally blocked in those lists.

AaronWalkhouse July 25th, 2006 06:14 AM

Oh, and don't forget to check that Technutopia [70.86.23.235] isn't blocked either.

Hey AW,

In my case, for the last week or so, it says server is busy and to try later.

AaronWalkhouse July 25th, 2006 11:20 AM

Sounds like a low level problem.
Hold on while I muck around in the engine room.
We have had some minor glitches lately…

nicobie August 5th, 2006 03:52 PM

It will let me almost look but I can't klick on anything.

Server busy...

Only A Hobo August 5th, 2006 03:59 PM

AaronWalkhouse August 6th, 2006 05:34 PM

I'm going to be mostly offline for the next couple of weeks.
Try emailing Joel for help.
