How did you find LimeWire?

Who told you about LimeWire? How did you find it? My friend told me about it when I told him I got an mp3 player.

Well, I had been in the mood for some old rock music (hard to get here in the countyside), so I asked some friend of mine from South Africa in a different forum (Seti@home) and he reckoned using it.......Yes, Your Honour.......it was him, not me,.....he made me do it.......:o ;) :D

My son lol :) He was an ex Napster user

garbagefan2 July 26th, 2006 09:47 AM

Wasn't napster a file sharing application? But now they changed it. It's a program where you pay for a membership and buy songs. I quit it because that is a rip off to pay for there crappy support and program and then pay for songs.

Only A Hobo July 26th, 2006 09:53 AM

The original Napster was afaik the forerunner of p2p, but being sever based, ran into trouble. Hense the Napster you see today.... They sold out:(

Tdot blue jays July 26th, 2006 11:18 AM

shannisrules July 26th, 2006 11:26 AM

wondering why July 26th, 2006 12:22 PM

Well, I got scammed....

Sleepless July 26th, 2006 12:29 PM

A friend of mine told me about it, when I started complaining about how most music downloadsites had adware or didn't work right

Ecky Thump July 28th, 2006 02:48 PM

A techno geek on a soccer web site told me. At the moment, the previous version was better, I think the new version has some bugs in it. Trying to sort it now.

CyberStalker July 28th, 2006 03:31 PM

I heard about it from my cousin. He said it was a great program to use to look for songs and he was right!:)

6_pac July 29th, 2006 12:40 AM

A co-worker told me about a different program, but I couldn't get it to work right, so I started searching for another. After trying several different ones I found limewire:),.... and as they say.....The rest is history.

Lord of the Rings July 29th, 2006 04:12 PM

I was very keen on trying out new programs ... especially free ones & came across some p2p apps. Not being many available for Mac, I had some doubts about the 1st ones I tried, stuck with one (Myster) for several months before trying LimeWire which absolutely killed the other program & it's more limited network. But I had Java issues with both programs at that time.

I was using LW version 2 for 2 & 2/3 years on MacOS 8.5 before leapfrogging to LW 4.0.4 on OSX (another computer) because I found my copy of LW2 OSX didn't seem to work on Cheetah (or was it Jaguar when I finally tried it in OSX. I think I had problems finding my original backup of LW2 Classic which is why I went for OSX instead.)

I just happened to be cleaning out the toilet with a toilet brush when this big heavy thing attached itself to my brush. After a long wrestle ... it won ... I decided LW was the one to give me resuscitation. (Gads I almost drowned!)

Find Gold where you least expect it!!! ;) :) (It must have been the engagement ring I swallowed!)

Oh mouth resuscitation please! I need a breath of fresh air! :D

LW is the greatest thing since Vegemite or toys in the breakfast cereal, or tax-returns (well I'm almost that old.)

Guana77664 November 5th, 2006 10:01 PM

I found out about LW from a couple AOL buddies who said they used it to get songs they wanted. Since I expressed an interest in it, they led me to the site, and as you all know, the rest is history. :D

I was looking for that KILLER p2p program, talked to some guys at work, who were into Sharaza and some other stuff, but followed my own nose by doing some research.

And there you have it.

I did an Internet search for P2P apps and came across it. And the rest is just history.

Sleepyjon November 15th, 2006 06:29 PM

A friend of mine linked me after he found it a few months ago.
