Is P2P helping to spread freedom and democracy in China?

Just read this very interesting article and thought, I should post a link to it here for others to read as well:

Is P2P helping to spread freedom and democracy in China?

One more reason to stop going after P2P

Here's another thing the MAFIAA never mentioned:

Nice to see such a proper discussion has been created. I liked a few points of view. One by Xtripit is interesting also. Hopefully more such discussions will spring up all over the place.

As for the 1st thread link in China ... haven't read it in detail yet. But I'm aware that China is very head strong about censoring what people can access over there. Search engine is one of such censor issues. So it might only be a matter of time before China takes greater control over such material. But we of course hope they don't.

I nice to see points of view from both sides. Wonder when the recording/movie is going to open their eyes.

The only way they are going to get more consumers is if they top or at least equal what people are now getting for free.

I really liked the way a fictional show like Prison Break can in a weird way open peoples eyes to questioning authority. At the start the quotes seem like they're from some ignorant person, but later you see why he said it like that.

You also notice the vast gap between western and eastern society really well.

Lots of the articles from those sites are quite interesting reading. Especially the discussions that sometimes develop on TorrentFreak are a blast.

Just a few days ago I read one one of those sites, that at least half the people in Australia with broadband connections are into filesharing ;)

A cloaking program has been developed for the people in suppressed countries. Psiphon, where people in western society can set up virtual servers and the underprivileged can browse through them. There is to my understanding no way that an ISP can notice without extensive checking on the host. The people that connect to the host are completely safe.
