Confused in N.J.

Can anyone offer any help with this problem? I have a software program called "spyware stormer" which for the most part detects spyware, worms, infection and viruses. I scan it about twice a month to delete things on there that shouldn't be. The problem is this: Everytime I scan it and I attempt to go on limewire afterwards I get a message that the computor can't find the file and I'm forced to go through the whole process of downloading limewire again (which is a pain in the neck). What am I doing wrong, or why do I have to continually download limewire everytime I scan for viruses?

most likely this program you refer to has LW on its list of 'trouble'....does this software allow you to put things on the ignore list?...if so, then determine exactly what file from LW is being deleted and put it on said ignore list

Also might read up on this program. Seems that it is not a trusted program. See Links below.

I agree with Remoc....I refrained from making any statements about such thoughts as they were just that..thoughts...Remoc has taken the time to do some research to prove the point!

Thanks for the information-but the spyware stormer program (which was free) didn't allow me the option to ignore the program. I"m really not on the computor that much, that's why I downloaded the free program. Luckily for me I never got any viruses or anything else. I think I''ll erase that program and spend the money to buy another program like that. Can you offer any advice on which one to get or recommend one that your familiar with? The help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks again

I use AdawareSE and SpyBot Search & Destroy, both available for free download....I had problems the one time I allowed SpyBot to install the 'tea timer' part of its algorithm so I would advise not to check that box on the install options (or is it you have to uncheck the box???)

Let me know if you received something from me on the 12th. I spent about 30 minutes sending you a private message (not in the lounge) and I'm not sure if it was sent or not.

thanks
Bob
(if you didn't get it, I'll re-submit it through the lounge)
