Important: AVG users be careful

Edit: There have been no cases of major false positives since November, this thread has become redundant and unsticky'd

Some of the latest AVG signature updates have been creating false positives on completely legitimate files.

This affects both free and Pro versions of both AVG 7.5 and AVG 8

Report have been of AVG reporting false positives regarding Adobe Flash player AVG offers free license and another false positive | Security and the Net This only a few days after it recommended users to delete the critical Windows operating file user32.dll, which if deleted will send the PC into an endless loop.

AVG virus scanner removes critical Windows file | Security and the Net

Thank you, I will be watching out for that now as I use AVG.

I have uninstalled AVG and installed Avast home edition much better than AVG, that is my personal opinion about it.

I have a solution for you, change your AVG antivirus software...Because AVG black list all p2p apps by default...Im sure thats why you have your problems with your apps! I have used AVG and it's no good for p2p use in general...Google for Avast antivirus, it's also free for home users...And also have a build in p2p shield which works gerat with p2p apps... Cheers, and have nice day ;-))

Just another nail in P2P's coffin, i.e. the world wide campaign.
