Worried
I have only recently started to use LimeWire (which is brilliant) and am worried about security. I run Windows XP with firewall, virus etc protection provided by AVG. I always understood that the purpose of a firewall was to prevent another person with a computer from searching my records, yet this is exactly what LimeWire does so that everyone can shares music etc. So is this not like opening the door for anyone to invade my computer. Sorry if I sound very dum about this, but as an elderly novice I am puzzled. Why doesn't my AVG firewall prevent other LimeWire users from downloading something from my computer - and is it safe to just carry on sharing music in this way??
