DRM? Napster?

I'm just curious to know is it illegal to remove DRM off of Napster songs so you can listen to all you get on your Ipod and/or Zune. They now offer credits but that's not nearly enough for me.

If it is legal is there any restrictions as not being able to distribute songs out to friends, etc.?

If it isn't legal what are the chances of getting caught stripping the DRM off of the Napster songs?

Sorry didn't know where else to post this. I'm just trying to figure out if this is legal or not.

All answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Too lazy to read? Napster have quite elaborate usage rights.

Napster Terms and Conditions

It clearly states that Napster encourages you to burn old (prior to 5/2008) DRM protected content to disk or buy, the ones you really want to keep, again as DRM free mp3.

Read that as you like, but to me it seems, removing DRM for PERSONAL use is ok by them.

As long as not SONY BGM material, which they only have reseller license to, i.e. by SONY BGM terms, which means you are thrown back into the stone age of copyright law.
