Is this about LW at all, or is your problem to do with Counter-Strike?

Peerless December 20th, 2009 10:47 PM

try this url and do a broadband test and a tweaking test and if any modifications to your settings are needed the test will advise as such.

Are you using a gnutella p2p sharing program, or games, or ? Your post is a little confusing. Did you check Peerless' link in his post about speed tests?

Unless someone else has a better idea... why not ask at the Counter Strike forum: Forums.Counter-Strike.com | Counter-Strike Community Forums

You've posted in the LimeWire forum... this forum is for help with the LimeWire Gnutella client :)

You may need to open ports on your router to connect to friends to play. And give your game an exception in your computer's firewall rules. ;)

ermmm....I must say, I don't consider those results to be 'broadband'...

my stats at the site I linked to are:

9150 Kbps down
1762 Kbps up

those numbers translate to 1.144 MB/s down and 220KB/s up....

or to put it in a more real life way, I can download a 750MB movie in less than 15 minutes if I can get a source that will maximize my downstream abilites, and can upload the same file in just under an hour....

and that is what I call broadband....your stats sound awfully low and just might be because you don't have your TCP/IP setting configured correctly....see the tweak test page at the above link and use it...of course it could be because you don't have real broadband also....and considering my experiences on the subject its most likely because you don't have 'real' broadband as I can't imagine the TCP/IP settings on a default install of Windoze to be that screwed up...

your numbers translate to 27KB/s down and 14KB/s up....download a 750MB movie in 7.7 hours and upload it in over 15 hours...faster than dial up, but not by much....
