Ask away .. Advanced Search will give you more parameters to search with.

Advanced Tools menu:
For LW Pro you will most likely see 5 ultrapeers you are connected to (LW Basic only 3.) Unless you are yourself running as an ultrapeer then you will see more.

When not running as an ultrapeer your node is referred to as a Leaf (most people run in Leaf mode.)

If you have a firewall issue it will show this on the left side of advanced tools window.

Incoming searches are those that in some small way link with files you are sharing. This might not be a good match of your shared files though you may notice. This information is not highly important however.

oh .. advanced section of Options ..

System tab - Whether you want LW to be default for magnet & torrent files. And whether you want LW to start as you boot your computer.

Listening ports .. this will probably be random if set to UPnP. If you require port forwarding your router/modem then this will remain static to match the port forwarded on your connection device. LW requires a port for connecting & one for listening so you can share over the network. These are usually the same port number. The Default port for LW to connect is 6346.

Proxy only for proxy ip address connections.

Performance .. normally these can be left alone. However sometimes LW may eat up too many resources or similar issue & disabling one or two of these may help.

Filtering is in regards to blocking those users who are spammers etc. ie: each time you ban a user in search results, their ip address will be added to the list on this window.

hey im also new here and in the same boat. just found limewire and am really interested in it. been searching around for other apps like it and think this is the best choice. just one thing I want to give advice on is to make sure you double and triple check that you do not have anything personal in the shared folder or else people will be able to download it and use your personal files! happy sharing!
