I didn't use this one but when I downloaded LimeWire Pirate Edition from David91 it installed, replaced my version and seems to work fine.I think I had the 5.5.10 but am not sure. Under the quick links -todays posts - sticky. On page 4 near the end is were David91 has the link that I downloaded. Have fun and good luck. Rich

Which of File_Girl's fixes did you use? Use the first one mentioned, I heard it's newer than the RAR version & was updated 6 days ago. Else, could try the RAR one also. There's other connection suggestions.

Also, consider trying the LW Pirate Edition, it generally connects well in comparison to the original LW versions. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/gettin...e-edition.html

Thanx 4 the message. I have the new one of Lime Wire Pirate Edition. The 1 you show in your letter. It shows on the icon on my screen as Limewire 5.6.2
It started working great and it saved everything from the library without losing any.
HAPPY NEW YEAR down under . Rich:):)

OK, I tried both of these several times and give up on them (first listed and RAR). LW was working great with no changes made to PC (java etc.) I just keep getting "Limewire is connecting".
If I try the LWPE, do I have to delete the 5.5.9 first? I'm scared of losing music and video files. :sos:

Depends where you save your music. Hopefully not in your LW program folder. If the answer is no, then no problems. Not sure if LPE will install over the 5.5.9 version or not, either way not that important, you could always re-download 5.5.9 if you wished to return to it. We have links on the forum.

For Windows, I think the default download location for LW's downloads is:
C:\Documents & Settings\username\My Documents\LimeWire\Saved

LPE connects reliably, more-so than the regular LW. The regular LW you sometimes need to re-update the connection file.
