Can Not Find (any search results)

I have a Mac G4 with OX 10.5.8 I am using LimeWire 4.16.7 I have a cable connection through CableOne.net.I connect from home and have a strong connection, but there is a firewall and it is not on my computer.I can search for anything but get no results. Is it that firewall blocking my LimeWire?

I just added LimeWire to the firewall to accept incoming connections and there is still a brick wall on the globe.

Go to LW's preferences > Advanced > Performance and disable TLS. Then press apply. See if this makes a difference.

TLS always seemed to be a problem for connecting properly on my Mac when using LW4. When disabling this option and restarting LW the firewall icon would usually go away.

LW 4's UPnP was a little less reliable to kick into action than the LW 5 equivalent.

You are obviously using a cable modem or router. This might be the source of the firewalling issue. May we know which brand and model?

I am rather curious to know whether you are able to access the LW preferences from under the LimeWire program menu on the toolbar next to the apple icon far left of screen. The preferences option stopped showing for me in early 2010. I have to use the Library window's configure shares option as a back-door to access the settings.

BTW try search something simple like the word beat.

I had to go to Filters, then Configure Content Filters then Advance.Disabled TLS and no changes, still a brick wall. This is what is set right now - Firewall Config using a UPnP connection,Proxy no proxy,Network Interface nothing,Preformance is where the TLS is disabled.
The cable modem is a Motorola Surfboard, the router is a Dynex 10/100

We're starting to get somewhere.I did a search using the word beat and got 20 returns.
Did another search using Nel Damond, got nothing.Did a search using Purple Ran and got a few.

Is content filters enabled? If yes, disable it.

Do you have junk filter results set to hide or show? If set to hide, change it to show. Some results might be getting filtered as junk when they are not junk files. In that way if you see anything that is definitely not junk you can select it and click Not Junk button so it trains the filter to know for next time and for similar results.

If doubt UPnP is working properly with LW resulting in being semi-firewalled, then you can forward a port. See Port Forwarding the Dynex DX-E402 Router for Limewire and also http://www.gnutellaforums.com/tips-t...tml#post120010 for LW's settings.
Login details for your router are http://192.168.1.1
Enter admin for both username and password.

I downloaded the manual for your router. It supposedly has UPnP. But sometimes UPnP on some routers is not reliable.
