Question Disabling "update" feature?

I posted this in another forum, but I thought I'd put it here as well, since it may be considered a connectivity issue:

When Limewire v2.3.3 is started, it automatically looks to the Limewire site for software updates...unfortunately, when the site is down (like right now), the application won't start beyond this point. Is there any way of disabling this feature?
