Connected but not working

I am using an imac with AOL 5.0 and I just upgraded to the latest LimeWire Pro.

I can connect, the green connection button is on. When I try to enter a search term and try to find some download selections, nothing shows up. The lime graphic moves like it's searching, but nothing is showing up. I tested several simple searches and still nothing. I wonder what's up?

Please help, thanks

Try upgrading your aol to 7.0, its much better than 5.0 and more stable than 6.0 ... though I dont know if that version is available for the Mac. I dont know squat about Mac.

I have a similar problem in that version 2.4.4 will run fine if I'm logged in as Administrator. If I log in with any other username (with admin rights), it will not connect. I have JRE 1.4.0_01 installed and I'm running Windows XP professional. I have the inbuilt firewall disabled

Its all about the rights

Log in as administrator, give your other account administrative rights in control panel > user manager

The other users already have admin rights. The drive where the program and shared files are is FAT32, and they have full rights to those too.

I'm a new user (previously used Bearshare) and it did work for a while until part way through last week and now I can't a connection. The telnet test passes OK.

Have the internet police finally landed on Gnutella?
