can't connect since editing preferences

Would editng preferences:connections be the reason I can no longer connect? If so, what should I re-input to set things right? Thanks for any help.

delete your limewire.props file. This helps if you messed up your configuration.

Thank you for your reply. I deleted propr, preferences and the entire application, but all my old preferences show up after I re-install. Any suggestions? Thank you.
