But I don't *want* to be an ultrapeer! My copy of Limewire seems to enjoy making me an ultrapeer from time to time. The problem is, despite having a cable connection, my bandwidth is capped both up and down, and I really don't have enough of it to serve as an ultrapeer let alone return effective searches to me at the same time. I've looked and looked through the configuration menus, but I can't find any option to check to decline serving as an ultrapeer. Can anyone help me out? Please email robotech@eyrie.org if so. Thanks. |

But its your choice! Morgwen |
Well at least 10k up and 10k down is a good estimation for the bandwidth you need as an Ultrapeer. Rather more since all those Gnucleus Ultrapeers without the bandwidth saving QRP popped up... |

Believe me, it's 10k up 10k down, if you have more bandwidth available, it will use more. At times it can easily reach 15k up and down, which is almost my complete upstream. |
I will test it again, it would be stupid if I havenīt any bandwidth left... I donīt care about the d/l bandwidth but I have only 16k up too... and I think 10 k is FAR to much then! Morgwen |
