how do I get my Mac to connect through AOL 5.0 I read through the FAQ and it said that my internet may have some sort of a firewall which is why I can't connect to the network. How do I know if I have a firewall blocking me? How do I get rid of it? Are there any other suggestions as to why my Mac won't connect when I have my internet running and LimeWire open? Thanks. -Anne |
download the gnutella.net file from ftp://whitedragon.dyndns.org/gnutella.net and copy it into your LimeWire directory (where your LimeWire.jar is located). |
not working... it's me again. I tried to go to that link but the webpage won't load. Is there anywhere else i can download that from? I also checked for firewalls and I'm not on any so i don't know what's up. Any more suggestions? Thanks -Anne |
it's ftp It's ftp, so you can't use your web browser. I also use aol 5.0 for mac. Connect to aol and click on the internet button and then click on FTP (file transfer). In the pop-up window, click "go to ftp". In the new window, click on "other site". Then copy and paste the address "ftp://whitedragon.dyndns.org/" in the place where it says "site address". Click connect and then, in the new window, highlite gnutella.net and click download. I hope this helps! |
