all got same problem!!!

It looks like all users (all complaining users) have got the same problem: Limwire(d) refuses to connect althought it should.
So YOU DEVELOPERS: make a SIMPLE solution and make it QUICK. Otherwise Limewire will disappear from that planet soon as noone will use it anymore.
god how I hate this app.

I agree, it's that simple:

If the users complain that it doesn't work, the developers have to make it work.

We're looking into it, hold on...

Well, it works for me, - you should check if you internet connection allows you to use LimeWire, if you're still experiencing problems. Some providers are blocking gnutella hostcaches like router4.limewire.com.

ajutagir July 16th, 2002 03:10 PM

Yes, if you were experiencing a problem because of router outage, that problem will be solved now.

CANT CONNECT AT ALL

YEAH ITS SEEMS EVERYONE CANT CONNECT, I HAVE A FEELING THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM AND I AM ABOUT TO GIVE UP ON LIMEWIRE AND USE OTHER SOFTWARE. ITS AMAZING HOW POOR THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS FOR THIS COMPANY. SEE YAH LATER LIME WIRE.

trap_jaw March 7th, 2003 12:27 AM

If you can't connect at all, your internet connection sucks. In 99,9% of all such cases there is a firewall/router preventing LimeWire from connecting properly.

Cheezy March 7th, 2003 01:53 AM

Well ive checked with my internet provider and there are no such firewalls in place, and yet it works in OS9 but when it comes to there OSX version it aint connecting and looking around on this site i aint the only one, how can so many people be wrong?

trap_jaw March 7th, 2003 03:56 AM

Even a DSL- or Cable modem, if it is not configured properly, might keep you from connecting to LimeWire.

Check your internet configuration.

I'm behind a HTTP proxy and it seems to work fine with WinMX, Bitorent, Kazaa etc. Unfortunately no such luck with Limewire.

(Your own faq says you don't support HTTP / Socks proxies --> http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/faqs#fir1 )

Will you be supporting this in the future?

trap_jaw March 9th, 2003 03:43 AM

I sent a patch for that but I'm not sure if it's going to make its way into the official distribution.

Dax March 9th, 2003 09:28 AM

Where can you get it from?

trap_jaw March 9th, 2003 09:50 AM

You would need to compile LimeWire yourself. Simply download and install the latest JDK from http://java.sun.com and ANT from http://ant.apache.org . Then go to http://www.limewire.org and checkout the latest LimeWire sources from cvs (instructions can be found on the website). To compile LimeWire all you have to do is execute the supplied compile scripts named "compile" or "compile.bat".

Once you've done that, send me an email:

gregorio@gmx.li I can send you the patch.

What I find is that the "Limestore" starts at start up or relanching of windows and it "locks out" my ability to get on line until I hit my CNTrol + ALT + DEL keys once to show what is running. If Limestore is running I DEL it from the list and then every thing seems to be ok so perhaps the answer is to stop limestore from runing in the first place!
