My connection problem(with details)

Ok I have Limewire Pro. I just upgraded to the newest version but I was having this problem before and after the upgrade. When I fire up limewire, sometimes I get some ultrapeers, sometimes I don't. Either way after about 15 seconds, if I have any ultrapeers they disconnect, and I just get a spam of different IP addresses going by as it tries to connect. Sometimes it will hit on an ultrapeer and connect for a few seconds, then that will drop off. In any case since it is getting IP addresses somewhere to try I have to assume it is able to contact the router.limewire.com or the other gnutella.net addresses. I have put in the gnutella.net file, and it has made no difference. Sometimes I get a solid connection for long enough to do a search, but usually no connection will stay up for longer than a few moments before it drops. I have done the telnet thing and from that can confirm that my isp is not blocking gnutella. It gave me gnutella ok or whatever. I also have a router that I go though. I have configured that to make the pc I am using the default for all incoming connections that are not already mapped, plus I have mapped that specific port that it uses to this computer. I have set up limewire to function from behind a firewall also. I do not know what else to try. Please help me out if anyone has any suggestions.

I also wanted to mention, I can use streaming content, because someone suggested trying that to make sure it wasn't having to rebuffer alot or dropping the connection alot. I had no problems with the 128k/s streaming video. Also, just fired up limewire pro, got a connection to a ultrapeer, stayed connected for aprox. 60 seconds, the ultrapeer dropped off, and all I got was a few small connections to a few single clients but nothing else ever came on.

1) Disable ultrapeer capabilities if you've not already done so.
2) go to options->uploads->basic and throttle your upstream to 10k/s
3) be patient and wait a couple of minutes after restarting LimeWire.

Ok I tried all 3 of those, and for a second I thought you were gonna be my hero. I had 3 ultrapeers connected, but then, one by one, until I was disconnected again, they quickly dropped off :(. And now I have sat here probalby 20 minutes, just so i would be able to say I was patient, and i have yet to connect to anything else.

I've had this problem twice and was able to correct it by removing and reinstalling LimeWire. After reinstalling, fire it up and it works fine......for a week or two. Don't know what's causing it but it's starting to tick me off.
