Day three of no connection. |
Well I don't know what happened but I wasn't able to connect for two weeks. I reinstalled LW 6 times. I tried different versions of Java. I disabled Zone Alarm. I checked with my ISP to verify that they were not blocking the port. (they weren't). I also wasn't able to connect to other gnutella clients, so I'm assuming that the network was f__ked up. Today I tried one last time before giving up entirely. I downloaded and installed Java 2 JRE 1.4.0 and Limewire 2.5.5. It works fine now. Also the other gnutella client connects too. So I don't know what happened. I guess patience is the key. |
Same problem I've tried the test to see if my provider will allow me to access the Gnutella network. A box appears, but it only appears for a blink on the screen. I can't read it. |
I'm using OS X (Jaguar) same problem as well. I downloaded it the first time and it ran no problem but after that it has been acting up with the split second connection. Also almost every time I open LimeWire the connection wizard thing opens and I have to reenter those preferences... any ideas on how to fix this? Also how can a Mac user tell if the networking isn't allowing gnutella connections? Thanks a lot and best of luck to everyone. |
