Connected, but not.

I am still connected, 1 host is online, and it still says it is disconnected. Later on that time, no hosts are online and it says it's connected with the green light on the bottom-left, but it says Disconnected. How come? Please help.

Re: Connected, but not.

... same here ...

I just BOUGHT the LimeWire Pro 2.5.4 and cannot connect AT ALL (I had iMesh before - it connected immediately on the 1st try and the performance was great, but ... too much spyware and I killed it).

Any help?

And yeah ...

I did read the FAQs and the (so called) LimeWire Troubleshooting Guide (?) that advises you to "make sure you are not behind a firewall"... Of course I am behind a firewall, and I want to stay there. What kind of a lame advise is that anyway? Must I remove the protection or make holes in it just for the sake of this tool??? How come iMesh downloaded a hell of a lot of files and never "mentioned" my firewall?

Why whoever is selling this SW hasn't even got a support phone ... any phone?

It's not about some 10 bucks for nothing.
I'm mad about my wasted time!

is it limewire or gnutella?

hmmm, i'm a little confused...are all of these dropped connections and incomplete downloads a dysfunction of limewire or the network itself? what are the alternatives? what is iMesh? i am dying for music but can't stand this anymore...

your download will not complete, if the host from which you are downloading files, decides to go offline, before you are finished. there is nothing that the LimeWire application, nor any other Gnutella application, can do about that. your download should resume the next time you connect, if the file is available at that time.

...by the way, telling folks what you're not gonna do to your firewall, is not the best way to ask for assistance, especially if changing your firewall settings might be the only way for you to connect.

I have been using limewire for over a year and have been behind a firewall the entire time with no problems. However, for the last month I can't stay connected. I'll connect for a few seconds and then all my connections go down. The green light at the bottom is still on but I have no connections up. The incoming and outgoing messages on the connections tab keep getting larger but there are no active connections. Nothing has changed in my setup, firewall, or isp so the problem is with limewire. Why doesn't anybody know why so many people are having the same problem?

When you say your connections go down... are you talking about items you are downloading or are you talking about connected hosts listed in the connections window. I may be misunderstanding what you are stating but I am confused by your statement that the Light stays on and the I/O message keep incrementing yet you have no connections??

I am talking about the connected hosts listed in the connections window. I lose all my connected hosts yet the green light stays on and the I/O messages keep increasing and I have no connections nor am I able to download or search for anything. Nothing in my setup has changed from the time period in which I could download and search to my heart's content.

same problem here, except the red light stays on. I thought it was me, but I'm reading all over the forum about no connections.

And, umm, no answers???
Is this kind of like a mystery or something?

You have me stumped... I have never encountered such a problem... only thing I can think to try is to uninstall and re-install...

I am having the same exact problem on my Mac. Seems like it use to work perfect until the last few weeks. I even tried it on my PC and got the same result. No firewalls, no virus programs on either my Mac or PC, there are no ports blocked on my router. I can log in and after a couple seconds it will connect and show ##TB available, then all the sudden it goes disconnected and wont connect again. Once in a while it will connect to one but have just a few MB's avaiable, or there wont be any connections in the screen. I have installed and reinstalled this program a dozen times on both machines and I get the same result. Running Mac OS 10.1.5, 10.2, 9.2.2 and Windows Me on the PC. All the same. Kazaa on my PC runs perfect.
