Thumbs down Connection Problems

Evidently, the people at limewire do not see a pattern here. There are over 46 pages of posts, and it looks like 95% of them have to do with a "Disconnected" or "No Connections". All I ever see is them blaming it on our firewall programs, ISPs', reinstall Limewire or routers. Well, I have did all of the above and including a format/restore on my mac and pc, hardware reset my router and cable modem. I installed Limewire on both machines and still nothing. My router is not blocking anything, no firewall, no virus programs and I still get nothing. I can launch Limewire, it will connect, show TB's of files available, a split second later it disconnects and will not reconnect at all. The little FAQ pages they tell us to go to is worthless also.

Something is going on and it is not out computers, ISPs', firewalls or routers.

I doubt that LimeWire has any direct influence on the problem you encountering. - They are working on alternative methods to connect, but that won't help you if there's a problem with your connection, for example if your ISP is effectively blocking Gnutella traffic.

LimeWire is probably on of the most thoroughly tested gnutella clients available, and it's very doubtful that there your problems are caused by the software.

Well gee. For all you folks who say they're having problems, an EASY way to check to see if Limewire IS or ISN'T the problem is to try another client (like Morpheous, for example) that's supposed to be using the same port.

What are Those results? Does it work or not?

Lightbulb just love it

I have to love the connection issues this "new" Limewire version just connects to everything.. I look up names and alright look at all that good music.. and when i try to dl it i can MAYBE get one song out of all that music that i was able to see.. and no its not firewall, computer .. its this new version.. the last version worked like a champ, this new version is crap.. wish next time they would put out a new version they would test the connectivity to new users instead of saying... oh yeah it works! iknow because i ran the program and it said i connected with 6 servers..bs

It's not just LW. I downloaded both Shareaza and Bearshare and had the same results. Could not connect. But it's not my ISP either. They are not blocking the port. Sure could use some help though. No one here seems to know what to do.

First time in two weeks that I'm able to connect. Hope it lasts.
