Default connection problems...please help

I'm having trouble connecting to the Gnutella network. For the past week or so, I haven't been able to connect at all (the majority of the time) or connect for just seconds at a time (occasionally). I checked the FAQs and ran Terminal (since I'm on a Mac OSX) and was able to get the "Gnutella OK" message...so I know my ISP isn't blocking Limewire. What can I do to get connected?

Question Checking ISP on a Mac

Will someone please tell me how to check if my ISP is blocked? I am running OS X (10.1.5) on my ibook, and I cannot connect with Limewire although i have the latest version. Thanks.

How to check if gnutella is blocked by your ISP:

Shutdown all firewall software.
Connect to the internet.
Start LimeWire and click on File->Connect
Wait a couple of minutes.

If you can't connect, your ISP blocks gnutella somehow.
