Connection Hosts
 

Under connected hosts ... I've selected keep approximately 4 connections up.
I can't 4 up. I only get 3. If I change that value to more than 4 it keeps cycling through host connections. It has a hard time stablizing.
I've just installed a router between my cable modem and my network ... could this be causing the problem? I'm able to download OK and folks are able to upload OK but the stability of the host connections seems to be affecting my search results.
If the router is the problem ... how can I work around the problem without removing the router from the circuit? Or is there another item I don't know about.
