Getting Connected

I seem to be experiencing a common problem, but I'm not able to find any kind of resolution for it. I've installed LimeWire on a Windows 98 PC, that is on a network behind a firewall and proxy. The LimeWire application not only does not connect, but it never gives any indication of it trying to do anything when I click on the connect button! The button continues to say the word Connect, the little circle beside the button stays red, and the status indicator says disconnected and sharing 0 files. How can I determine whether anything is happening when I try to connect.

Thanks for reading and any assistance.

It will try...

I had the same problem, but a combination of HTTP Tunnel and SocksCAP fixed it.

Now, however, it starts to connect, the number of servers starts going up... then it just drops off. Says red again, the connections I have to resume never say "waiting", they just stay at downloading with 0k/s, etc... wierd
