Wireless Dlink won't allow people in Anyone with experience with Dlink or another wireless router, I need your assistance so that I can once again share my files via Limewire.
I use an Apple computer. Recently I went wireless using a dlink router. Everything works beautifully except Limewire. Even Snapperhead works; I was able to configure that. But not Limewire.
Snapperhead allows others to push past my firewall and take live snapshots of my desktop. Therefore, I know the problem does not lie with my router but rather is a configuration issue.
Furthermore, I can connect to others via Limewire, and upload files from them; however, they are unable to obtain files from me via Limewire. I can obtain files from others; they cannot obtain through me. Yes, I have checked upload slots, all of the standard stuff. Very familiar with the Limewire setup. This is a firewall/router configuration issue.
In the past, when I was hardwired into DSL cable, I set up a push request to allow others to push through and get to my IP. I still have that configured. I have tried both my "real" IP and the "Dlink" IP. Neither work.
Those of you familiar with Dlink and other wireless routers know that there are many configuration screens. Please be specific if you can help me.
It would help if I knew what internal port Limewire uses from the private end. Publicly I know gnutella uses port 6346. I need the Private Port on my end.
Here are some standard Private Ports for my Mac. ftp uses 21; http 80; https 443; dns 53; smtp 25; pop3 110; telnet 23; IPSec 500; pptp 1723; snapperhead uses 2000.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Especially from a Mac person. |
