Can't connect!!! I just today downloaded LimeWire for Windows 1.4. After installing the software I tried to search something and realized that I'm not connected at all. I tried to push LimeWire making a connection by pressing the "connect"-button. But nothing happend at all. I didn't register, just installed LimeWire, what is wrong? |
ME TOO! This is very annoying. Any ideas/thoughts would be much appreciated. |
Wow there does seem to be a trend here. When i tried to get on it said "Cannot find a port to use for incoming connections. Please specify one from the configuration window." I had treid to figure this but cant. Please help us!!! |
Same problem. Same problem here. Somebody help. |
cannot connect I am being prompted every time I open gnutella to download new version....I did Well...it really is the same version... thought this maybe the problem why I cannot connect to server... I am not able to download files.... Anyone know what to do??? Please help Thanks..... |
Sounds like you are all on the same machine type (win), but not the latest release (which is 1.4b) Anyway, are you having a proxy or a firewall configured? If yes, get rid of the proxy/firewall and connect directly. If you are using a modem connection, try connect/disconnect after the dial-in. And if you are AOL-users....there was something on this recently....you have to use something like a 'master window/dos-box' to run LW (my apologies, but I really cant remember exactly) Cheers Ax |
Can't connect!!! don't believe all these people would be so stupid as to not connect to internet before running LW. I, too, have sat here watching it endlessly contacting and then abandoning hosts, never connecting to any. It isn't just LW, none of the other gnutella clients work, either. They all used to, but not any more. Winmx didn't work, either, until they told me to download a .wsx file, now it works reasonably well. No problem at all getting into Napster. At first I thought it might be the proxy server my isp forces me to use, but Toadnode, which is supposed to like proxies, doesn't work either. I am running Blackice fw but I don't think it's that; when I disable it, same problem. What the hell is going on? |
LW does not have proxy-support (yet)...this migth be the problem. I have the same probs when behind the company network, but not when I can connect directly to the internet on a dial-in..... Axe |
