When the Lime stops spinning and when you see the search results.

Same Problem Search Button Inactive

Has worked, quit working. Have tried exiting and getting back on, but....dead search button. Is it just a matter of waiting until the search button activates?

search button

The only problem I've had so far is the search button going dead when I'm ready to search. Then it just pops back on. I'm connected and it has already worked well, but dead button is frustrating.

newbie and can't connect and thus no search

Hi,
I just installed yesterday and made one search before this 'am' and now no connection and can't search. I uninstalled and reinstalled already to no avail. I have a brand new emac running system 10.2 and connect by modem with my ISP. I can't find out how to use Telnet from Mac help and 'telnet' does not come up in a finder search, but would this matter as I could connect yesterday?

The search button goes dead when you are not connected to the network. As you probably know, Gnutella has no central servers, you must find other peers to connect to. Sometimes (perhaps often) you will find that you are temporarily not connected to any other peers. When this is the case, you cannot search, since you are not connected to anything, so the search button deactivates.

Dead button may be annoying, but I think it would be even more annoying if the button didn't go dead when you were disconnected. That would let you press it and wonder why there were no results. The dead button just prevents you from trying something that is temporarily (until you get some connections) impossible.

Give it some time to reconnect, and you can search.

Not sure what Telnet has to do with anything though :D
