stuck on "save directory not valid"

I downloaded 2.8.5 a week or so ago and it had been running fine. Then this week when I tried to start it up I got the following message:

Your save directory is not valid. It may have been deleted, you may not have permissions to write to it, or there may be another problem. Please choose a different directory.

So I choose a different directory and no matter what the directory it won't accept it when I hit the "select" button! My directory had not been deleted, my permissions did not change. The worst thing is that it won't accept "cancel" and so I can't even shut it down! It just asks for a new directory and then won't accept any directory! I even did a reinstall. What is wrong?!

Invalid directory

I am having the same problem. This happens to me every 3 or 4 times I start Limewire Pro 2.8.6. If I choose another directory it will continue to start successfully. Then that directory is good for 3 or 4 uses and becomes invalid. Invalid directories never become valid again. I have invalid save directories scattered across my hard drive. Uninstalling then reinstalling Limewire does not help. I just wrote tech support at Limewire about the problem.

I had the same problem...how do I contact Limewire about it like you did (or, if you got a response, what did they suggest?) Thanks alot! If I don't get my Limewire back soon, I may go insane!! :(

Tech support wrote me back and suggested that I delete the invalid directory and create a new directory. I have created a lot of new directories but I haven't deleted any invalid directories yet, so I will try that next.
