Newly downloaded version won't connect

I just downloaded version 2.9.8 for Mac OS 8.1+, and it won't connect. Instead, I get this message (approximation):

java. lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.limegroup.gnutella.Main
at com.zerog.lax.LAX.launch(Compiled Code)
at com.zerog.lax.LAX.main(Unknown Source)
at com.apple.mrj.JManager.JMStaticMethodDispatcher.ru n(JMAWTContextImpl.java)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java)

What can I do to fix this?

Ditto

i have the same problem, i just paid for the new version and downloaded and installed it. but when i try to connect i get a fatal error pop up that says:

Unable to Launch Java Application
Unable to locate the application's 'main' class. The class 'com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.Main' must be public and have a 'public state void main(String[])' method. (LAX)

these are the further details of the error:

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.Main
at com.zerog.lax.LAX.launch(Compiled Code)
at com.zerog.lax.LAX.main(Unknown Source)
at com.apple.mrj.JManager.JMStaticMethodDispatcher.ru n(JMAWTContextImpl.java)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java)

anyone with any feedbakc on this? i've checked the FAQ and even written to Limewire about the problem and they're either too busy to help or there's no answer.

man either there are no moderators here or this is the same story, and it looks like i'm not the only other person suffering from the same problem - from what can be seen on this forum. you got to love the way Limewire told us all to download this new version and when we did, it didn't work for blow.

someone, anyone who works on the support team please help us, we did pay for this and deserve at least an answer.

LimeWire's support team doesn't post here. But you can reach them via eMail:

Well, you are out of luck, as it seems...
