limewire not connecting when i go on limewire the connection dot in the bottom left hand corner stays red, and it doesn't even say (disconnected/ sharing no files) then i go to connect, and the thing turns green in a miliseceond like nothing happened, and it doesn't say (connected/ sharing x number of files) then i type something in the search box and click search and nothing happens, the lime in the top right corner doesnt move, and seems to preform no search when i tell it to. i am connected to the internet when doing this, and my computer is a mac 8.6. please help. thanks- Owen |
someone please respond |
What kind of internet connection do you have? |
cable |
8.6 is quite old. could it possible be an outdated MRJ? When you're connected, what does it say in the 'connections' window? Are there any hosts listed? |
limewire was working the whol time ive had my 8.6, it just randomly started this. and when im "connected" there are hosts listed. |
so you have a bunch of ultrapeers in your connections window with normal IPs (not something 192.x.x.x or 127.x.x.x ish)? And you didn't change anything, no macos upgrades, no limewire upgrades, no changes to your internet connection? weird. |
yea, it is wierd. hopefully someone here will know how to fix it. |
I am having the exact same problem - and it happened suddenly for me too - it appears that a lot of people are having this problem - did you ever figure out how to fix it? If so, please help! Thanks... Charlotte |
i tried to reproduce the prolem. didn't work. i have 9.2 with mrj 2.2.5 and limewire 2.9.10. limewire runs smoothly, although slow. i don't think it's an issue with the internet connection. i assume you have good web, email, ftp and you have NO router of firewall, yes? next thing i would probably do is uninstall/clean re-install 2.9.10 (what versions of limewire do you guys run anyway). if this still doesn't work: clean re-install of the OS. if this still doesn't work, it might be an issue with the OS version, and i'd try installing the newest 9.x. or of course trash the vintage cripple os and get os X instead... |
