Can't Connect to Limewire I am using a corporate Lan Connection and an running Windows 2000 and limewire 2.9.11. I can not connect. If I try to connect the light goes green for a second and then turns red again. Next to the red light it says Sharing 1 files, but I can't search for anything. WHen I first installed Limewire it worked for about 10 mins and then quit. I have tried changing the port to 8080, 80, 6346, and others. Any suggenstions? |
hmm... sounds like a corporate lan to me. They don't want their employees downloading music at work. I guess you can't go and ask your sysadmin whether they block limewire traffic? |
NO I can't I left Limewire online over night and I got a connection, but I can't download anything. I keep getting blocked with the firewall. I think I'm gonna give up. |
yeah, corporate lans suck. you can't really blame them for blocking gnutella traffic since gnutella is often used to *cough* do questionable things and they don't want to be blamed for your doing these questionable things. i'd try using limewire at home (if you have a connection from there). a lot less hassle to get it working. |
