hey look, i can't connect either...
 

there seem to be a lot of posts here about people not connecting to this program...i guess i should have read the forums before even downloading the program.

anyway, i have the same problem that 99% of the people that have installed this program seem to have, the light turns green for a split second, then goes back to red. in the title bar of the program it just constantly says (Disconnected/ No Files Available)

i am using winXP, cable modem, router, yes, i have firewall software, but it's disabled and closed, LimeWire 2.9.11.

and before anybody says anything, yes, i'm connected, it's a cable modem, duh! constant connection...how else do you think i'm here right now posting this.

speaking of 'duh!'
 

well, frankly, this is the 'connection problems' forum. it figures that most people posting here can't connect, doesn't it? ;-)

since you have disabled your firewall software, I assume the issue is your router. Check the router configuration and set it to forward the port 6346 to the local IP address of the machine you are running limewire on. make sure to do that for both UDP and TCP traffic.

This should hopefully take care of it.
