In recent versions, limewire ultrapeers filter out search requests for stuff that their leaves don't have, so, if somebody searches for, say, popular artist X, and you don't share any such file, the ultrapeer doesn't forward that search request to you, and limewire reports it as 'dropped'. this keeps more bandwidth free for more useful stuff.

I had seen quite a few posts by trap_jaw/2/3 and, given their very informative and useful nature, wondered what anyone providing such service could have done to get banned. Still can't figure it out. But, since I won't be hacking on any code any time soon, I guess I won't be needing to find the Phantom of the Phorum.
