Lousy Download Speed

When I connect to download a file. My connection is not more than 10kb/sec on a MODEM connection. Why is this so low compared to the 25+/sec I get when I use to have Kazaa? Please help me out here. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong, or if it is something in Limewire. Thanks very much.

Your download speed is determined by mainly two things. One, is your speed. The second is the uploader's speed. Clearly, if you are downloading from someone with a dial up modem, you should never ever expect more than maybe 5 kb/s MAX from a modem, let alone 10kb/s. If you have a high speed connection, try getting files from people with similar type connections.
