Too many complaints!! Dear LW Staff!! It seems that there are an unacceptable amount of complaints about the connection problem. I used LW for a longtime. Then one day it didn't connect. I upgraded, no difference. I even shut down my firewall, to test if the port-thing is an issue. Still didn't connect. I felt that maybe I want to "upgrade" and purchase LW Pro, but just today I read a few more and see that also the LW Pro customers cannot connect as well. All along I thought that maybe this was a way of forcing to upgrade and I almost fell for it. YOUR CUSTOMERS cannot connect and it seems like LW officials don't give a ...... It most likely comes down to again the same. You know of an existing problem, but are afraid to admit it. It if isn't so, please post a proper protocol of "how to". Mistakes happen, BUT THEN FIX'EM and quit telling us to "click connect"!!! I public stand would be a fair thing. What is going with LW!!?? Is it or is it not useable!? And if, then how?? Although I am not a member of the Limewire staff, I will be happy to answer some things for you. There are not too many complaints. This forum is the most biased thing in existence. Here, you see people with problems. Hear that? Problems. There are tens of thousands of people using Limewire successfully, with no problems, but here, at a forum designed for people with problems, what do you know, people come with problems. Maybe, half a dozen people a day, a dozen a day, tops. And so, visiting this forum, I can see how one may think that many people have problems with Limewire and that it is a horrible, buggy piece of software. In reality, you couldn't be further from the truth. Yes, some people have connection issues. This is true. But believe you me, the Limewire staff works their [you know what] off trying to fix these bugs or problems, and that's why a new version with bug fixes comes out almost every single week. In addition, many connection problems are beyond the scope of this forum. For instance, if someone's ISP blocks Gnutella traffic (and many do), then you will be unable to connect. |
not working for me either, just want help! Everything working fine 1 day, the next I cannot connect, and the next day, etc, etc. My ISP (SBC yahoo) allows sharing. I log onto limewire go to connect and limewire shuts off completely, and I do have the newest version and it was working fine until now. HELP ANYONE!?!?!?!?!?!? |
Limewire shuts off completely. Try doing a clean install. That means wiping Limewire completely from your harddrive, and reinstalling the latest version. Also, try allocating more RAM to Limewire, if possible. And Java MRJ if you have Mac OS 9. |
