Default Trouble with SEARCH button

I am very new to Limewire. I was able to download several items successfully. Then all of a sudden the SEARCH button was dimmed (I am searching for audio downloads) and I can't use it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Mmm, that happens usually if you are not connected to Gnutella.

Default Trouble with SEARCH button

Same for me (LimeWire for OS X). The serach button remains dimmed. When I use the connect command, the search button is activated for a fraction of a second and then greyed out again. Does my new ADSL moden/router with built in FireWall something have to do with it? Even when I enter one of the 'default' ports from the router's manual in LimeWire, this does not help. It used to be such a nice app....

Are you sure you have port 6346 open? Do you use any other gnutella clients that may have forced Limewire to use ports 6347 or 6348?

Default Search dimmed

Running Windows XP, same problem intermittently through updates of Limewire a couple of times, intermittently find Search dimmed, exit & restart program fixes the situation, can't offer any other solution.
