but I think your problem it the server, ask your admi if your university uses a socks 5 proxy - this proxy isnīt suported by many Gnutella clients (AFAIK including Limewire) - try Xolox just to see if you can connect with this client to the Gnutella net (Xolox supports socks 5 proxies) http://www.xolox.nl/ If you can connect with Xolox we found your problem, if not...  You can use all Gnutella clients (including Limewire) with your firewall without any problems... so the firewall isnīt the problem here. Morgwen  |
