still no connection! redgreenred

My computer info
mac osx version 10.2.6
limewire version 3.5.8
I have done a software update
my firewall is open to gnutella/limewire (6346)
My internet connection is through a router so both me and my room mate can share the DSL.
I have veiwed the connection pannel and hit connect and something happens for like a second then the light goes red again

I dont know what to do! help me please.
