connect problem solved? I recently had problems with connecting to the Limewire/Gnutella netwok. I followed advice submitted by forum users, deleting .limewire directory, have even reloaded software a couple times. My solution to this problem is to open task manager (CTRL - ALT - DELETE) and shut down the programme javaw.exe which loads upon start up. Then open Limewire (double click on desktop icon) For me, this loads the Limewire programme and connects first time each time I have tried. Hope this may help others with connection problems. |
I'd like to try that, since nothing else is working, but will that work for a mac running 10.2.8? I can't find that file. I have found javaws.cfg, javaws.jar, and javaws.policy. And if anybody else reads this, when I mean nothing else is working, I tried everything posted in the forum and then some. Even changing the prelude to read limewire. If it helps any of you troublshooters the only thing I can add is that it worked before I ran DiskWarrior to rebuild my directory. |
I just wrote some changes to the connection logic that may solve your problem. We'll be releasing this new code in beta very shortly. Perhaps you could try it and let me know if it solves your problems? Thanks very much for you patience. |
