Angry Another person who cant connect

I have alowd port 6346 to be open for both UDP and TCP packets through my firewall and done all the deleting that was detailed in this forum.
I have made sure I have some files to share and restarted limewire including stopping the pocess javaw.exe

and I still cannot connect.

I load up the app successfully, I can set any settings I want, but if I try to connect I get the green light flash for about 1/2 a second and then turn back to red. I have bought the pro version of this software as i used to use it alot a few years ago, but now I cant use it at all.
I should have tried the free version before I paid for it.

If anyone knows anything else I can do, I have trawled through all of the other posts in this forum, but may have missed something.

Please mail me at

if you have any ideas, thanks
Simon

Default To the team at limewire!

Hi there!
I have looked through this forum and many people have the same issue regarding connection and there seems to be no solution to this.

I think that you really need to address this problem and issue a patch or advice or something, because you are going to start losing a lot of people.

I am right on the edge of giving up with limewire all together and will wait for a day or two to see what replies i get on this post.

Hopefully it is a simple problem and not a major flaw in your software. I have made sure I have the latest version of limewire, I am running windows2000 proffesional, but the problem seems to be the same regardless of what OS anyone is running.

I have no problems connecting with other file sharing programs just limewire.

Good luck in solving this one.
Simon

Solution? Many ( ~200,000 current users ) have no problems connecting! And you're talking to the wrong people--these forums are for other users like yourself. Sometimes the developers drop in and post here on their own time. Think of this place as a coffee shop bulletin board. As a Pro User, you're entitled to the free LW Pro Support

For those that do have problems, they can help by tracking down their personal situation and/or provide the details.

The developers are trying to hunt down the odd situations that might cause such problems (see http://groups.yahoo.com/group/the_gdf/ ) that can be "patched", but many of the problems are caused by:

Other Users--leechers actively blocked or kicked (share more than 100 files to get around this), or if your IP ended up on a blocklist somehow (no idea how to get around this one)

User setup--Firewalls blocking Connections on port 6346 (looks like you've fixed this). New System updates/patches can change settings that once worked.

--Routers--port 6346 blocked

--ISP's/Network Administrators (ask them if they still allow filesharing)

This is probably not news to you, but might help others. Good luck anyways, and do post back when you've figured out the problem. Too many dump thier problems here and don't bother to post their solutions back.
