Connection Confusion

I have just recently downloaded the LimeWire and my attempts to connect has failed. I do not know if this is some failure to register or something or if I have to set up a screen name because It never asks for that however all other file sharers that I have used did ask for a screen name. Anyways everytime I click connect it does so for not even a second then disconnects. I have looked for that one file to delete and that doesn't exist. Any help would be appreciated.

So you are able to connect sometimes? Ask your provider if they are blocking some ports especially the port 6346... more and more provider are sarting to block sharing ports - I don´t know how AOL does. Try to change your Limewire port!

how do you change your lw port? i can see how to change the actual #, but what should i change it too?

You can do it in Limewire tools/preference/expert/port, which number you use is your free choice. Test it with port 80, this is the browser port. If this works your provider is blocking the port 6346 - you shouldn´t use the port 80 for ever change it later!
