3.8.5 on OSX 10.1.5 Hi, What am I doing wrong here? I upgraded to 3.8.5, I'm running OSX 10.1.5 on an 850Mhz iMac G4 with 56k dialup. I've tried pitching the preferences, zapping PRAM, restarting my connection, then restarting Limewire. Everything works fine for a short time, then I get a message that says that my internet connection isn't active or I need to change my firewall, then it disconnects and the downloads go to 0kb. I can't find a firewall in my system and when I check my internet connection, it's fine. Is there a solution to this, fewer downloads at a time, something I need to change in my system? Arwen777 |
i had similar problem with 10.15 i find that if you wait for the "no active connection" error to come up, then disconnect the internet and reconnect, then go to "connect" in limewire, it works i'd like to know how to use it without having to quit my connection though (i got broadband though) |
You would think that with so many people having this problem (me being one) that someone would have found out how to fix it by now. It's sad to see me get so excited when my limewire runs for more than 10 minutes. Seriously though, someone...fix the problem! lol |
lwloseruser When LW is open, click Tools->Options & go to Bug report & click for an example. In the window that appears scroll down to the part that says: "Recieved incoming this session". If it says ‘True’ then LW has no problem with firewalls, but if 'False' it does have a prob. Seriously though you should check YOUR hardware. I only just moved over from dial-up less than 2 weeks ago. Try restarting your comp. It'll clear a lot of things up. |
3.8.5 on 10.1.5 is a tough combination (I *think* the Sample Bug Report was implemented then). Try a newer LW--it fixes quite a few of the older problems. http://www.limewire.com/english/cont..._history.shtml [slaps head! idiot me--I got suckered into responding to a troll who activated a thread 8 months dead! This post will self destruct when I next see it! :p ] |
