My internet goes out when i start limewire up.
 

Ok i have comcast high speed internet and when open up limewire, it will not connect and give me an error saying there is not live internet connection. So then i open up IE and it won't load up any webpages. So I reset my cable modem and try limewire again. It boots me off again. How can this be ficked

Minimize the number of connections LW tries to use at startup

-clean out your incomplete folder (try to limit the number of incompletes downloads to about 4)

-set the options to manually connect on startup (give it a few minutes after startup to settle down before you use file->connect

--call Comcast and tell them your cablemodem is having trouble maintaining multiple connections (if you bought the modem/router, check the manufacturer's home pages for similar problems: sometimes a firmware upgrade/downgrade helps)

Bought this proggie and cant connect. Everytime I try It knocks my cable modem right off. I have to shut down puter, unplug modem and restart to get connected again. And then start puter to be online. I wish these guys would fix this prob. I had a 2.8 pro version I never had a prob with. I purchase a brand new version to keep updated cause my 6 months of updates ran out and now i have Nuthin. This is balony, All i see in this forum is tons of people having the same connection problem. Its not the user its the program. WHEN IS THIS GONNA BE FIXED??? I tried every possible posted fix here and NAda. 19.00 Bucks down the tubes I guess. This new version is CRAP. Please fix the problem for all of Us PAID users. ANd please dont give me the firewall crap and all the other happy horse rectal output doo-dads. I know what I`m doing here and so do others, Its something in Limewire causeing this!!!!! Gonna contact Paypal right now And Complain, I know theres no refund but Maybe a bunch of Complaints will help!!!

Think you have problems? Check out the numbers of users like me who were trying to get filesharing working back in Jan 2003, and look at what the graph shows today.

FWIW--learning how to describe problems and figure out the specifics people here needed so they could help did finally succeed.

btw--isn't Pro support working for you? It usually didn't for me (the experts on this forum did), but then I thought Pro support had improved.
