A new victim with connection issues
 

I have read all of the problems with not being able to connect to LimeWire. I just got a new computer (Windows XP Home Edition) and I got on this site to find out it doesn't allow me to connect. When I first registered and got everything to work, I was able to connect and dowload some music. After I was done I shut down my computer. I logged on the next day to find that I can't connect now. I have Compuserve as my IP and I have disable my Norton Anti virus to see if this would work...NO LUCK! Could someone please help me understand this mess everyone is complaining about! There is a problem and it's not just from a few people. LimeWire should address this issue and fix it!!!

As a start, what version of LimeWire are you now using ?

I have Limewire 3.8.5 I re installed it and it worked again. I shut down my computer for the night and tried to connect again and no luck. I tried re-installing it for the second, third and fourth time...NO LUCK! Why does this happen? I'm afraid to upgrade to Limewire Pro in fear I will pay for it and it not work. Pleas help!!

Ursula must be busy, but has already helped by providing the port test link in the signature above. Try that, and assuming it reports "Success!", then try sharing more files. Some people have had better success having their connections accepted if they share ~100 files.

Have you already read through the XP connections posts in the "Connections Problems" link?

cheers. Post back, and maybe someone who knows XP can help. The fact that you can connect at times but not others is odd. Does Compuserve only allow filesharing at certain times?
