Help!!!!

I can't establish a connection! Everytime I open limewire, it tries to connect, disconnects, tries again, and continues this vicious cycle. I am on a school network, but there are no firewalls. Norton is not a problem, because when i trun it off, it makes no difference. Why is this happening? Is there any was to get a connection on my network? Please help. Thank you!!!

First, try the test to see if you are having Port :6346 blocked by the people who are providing your internet connection...

Do this by clicking on the Port :6346... link in my 'sig' below.

Also, please include in your next post info on your computer and Operating System and what version of LimeWire you are currently running.
And mention if you have changed or up-graded your version of LimeWire...

You may also want to look at the

LimeWire 'Cannot Connect' Link down there in my 'sig'...

and, the Alternate PORTS link...

I'm using Windows 2000 professional, and I'm running limewire 3.8.7
I clicked on the port test link, and it said that "the page cannot be displayed". Should I download an older version?
btw, thanks for your other suggestions.

Sorry, but the message, "the page cannot be displayed" means that your Administrator in charge of Internet Connections is 'blocking' Port :6346

Your problem is 'probably' due to restrictions imposed by a school ISP Admin... But... There are many ways around this 'problem'...
With some patience, all around, you'll be OK...

Have a good look at the Alternate PORTS Link and try selecting another PORT...

If that doesn't work, come back and we will all try to help you get it going !!!

btw - You pass the Windows Users Maximum Intelligence Test !!!

You're running Win 2000 Pro and NOT XP !!!
You already have 99% of the 'battle' won ! ;)
