Limewire pro is shutting down my wireless network connection?

I am having a problem with all my computers that has Limewire pro installed. As soon as limewire loads up it will kill my connection. On one of my laptops I don't have lime wire installed. If I try to use one of my other computer with limewire installed it will drop my connection on both computers. I then have to unplug both the router and modem shut down all computers and repower up the modem and router and power up the non-limewire computer to connect to the internet. As soon as the computer with limewire installed is turned on the internet connection is lost. I have tried installing lime wire on 3 laptops and one desktop and have the same results. I have had to uninstall limewire pro from all the computers. I have e-mail limewire but have received no response. Has anybody had this problem or know how to correct this. Thanks

I'm having a similar problem. I replied on another thread. Sorry, i have no clue how to fix it. the only solution i know of is to use an older version of Limewire, if you have the newest one.

the older Free installers are here

I don't think you can get an older Pro--but you are entitled to Pro Support
http://www.limewire.com/english/content/proform.shtml

btw--the new Pro (3.6.10 or .11) is supposed to work around many of the connection problems (many were caused by home routers not handling the many connection attempts LW needs to get connected). Have you checked your home router's firmware reports? Some Linksys routers, for example, worked best when the AOL parental features were turned off, or if the firmware was reverted to an earlier version. USB routers were also causing troubles too. Maybe if you posted your OS and connection details someone might recognize your setup.

The best way to determine if the problem is in LW or your router is to try connecting one of your machines directly to the cablemodem. That at least will show you if it's the router.

thanks for the links for the old versions. I had no problem with my router or anything else until upgrading to the latest version of Limewire available, 3.8.10 i think. I upgraded last week (setting up a new computer, new model Powerbook, 1Ghz,768 RAM, OSX v.10.3.3). I did not have problems immediately. LW worked perfectly for several days. Then, suddenly this problem developed where LW would not connect and following trying to launch LW, i was not able to use any internet functions until i reset my Airport through the software control panel.

To test the problem, i tried to launch LW while connected to the internet directly through the dial up modem, no router, no cable, no Airport, just a direct regular dial up connection. The same problem happened, and after that, i could not resume normal internet functioning until after removing LW icon from the dock. Just rebooting did not restore normal functioning.

The older versions of LW worked flawlessly with my systems.

Ah--airport! There was an Airport upgrade recently, and some other 10.3 patches. Did you do the usual safe boot/repair permissions after the Software Updates?

The reason I ask is that LW is working fine on both my G3 10.2.8 and G4 10.3.3--and I keep switching between the betas and the latest releases, and the jum CVS builds.
