Default Connection resets every time

Windows XP Pro (firewall off)
Belkin Router

Everytime limewire starts up it resets my internet connection, but it comes back a little bit later. The second time limewire tries to connect to its network it can get through fine. It's only on this initial startup that it cant detect my connection and subsequently resets my router / internet

any help appreciated

thank you

Okay so it seems like downloading an older version is a possible solution. Can I have some instructions on this? Should I uninstall the current version?

BTW I already tried that "deleting preferences directory" fix but nothing happened.

Default 3.8.6 Pro resets Belkin router

I am running Win2K SP4 and 3.8.6 Pro often resets my router when I try to connect. I either have to reset my router or reboot depending on the situation.

My Belkin router is model F5D5230-4. When Limewire tries to connect, all the router's lights flash on just as it does on a warm reset.

Default 3.8.6 Pro resets Belkin router (cont'd)

Btw, the router reset never happened with any previous version of Limewire, only after I upgraded to 3.8.6 Pro. I have been using various versions of Limewire for over a year.

Default I have same problem

I to have the same problem with the belkin router. In my case though it is an endless cycle of Limewire attempting to connect and then resetting my router. I have set myself in the DMZ and done just about everything that I know to do. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am buying if I can get it to work!!!

Try 3.8.10 at www3.limewire.com/download/ I think they have chaged the number of pong emitted at startup, thus helping poor network devices such as your router.

Bonne chance
