Limewire Pro 3.8.9 will not connect
 

I have just updated my limewire. I do not have a firewall and am using Windows XP Pro. When I try to connect I get a message that says ' you do not appear to have an active internet connection or you are behind a firewall'. I have the new AOL 9.0 Optimized and I know that I am not behind a firewall. Please help!!!!! Thank you,

Okay, I have tried everything you said. When I check the port it said your sample page was a success, then I turned of my built in firewall. Now the connection is unstable but does work. My search is very slow. Most times only a few songs are found. I forgot to include the fact that I am running on a 56K modem. Can that be a big problem? Thank so much for your help.
